I argued with a holy man today
He was giving out free chocolate bars in the mall
Little did I know he would try to save me
So there we were locked in a small battle of beliefs
Telling each other how we were there to save each other
Basically arguing over who was going to save humanity better
Each preaching our own values
My point being, that in the end it was basically the same
Whether he came from god, or I came from pure need
To save the world
We were working toward the same goal
He disagreed, gave me the gospel according to John
And told me he didn’t want me to go to hell
I told him I was there to stop his Christian tunnel vision
But you know I believe he was a good man
He did want to save me after all
And after a couple hours of discussion
I think we both bettered each other’s lives
I got some chocolate
He might question his beliefs
And when I walked out into the rain
It was just water
Not acid, as it would have been if he was right
My values are solidified
Thank god

Faith in self and community is the best kind of faith to have. In other words: to not have "tunnel vision" (nicely put) and to benefit self via society, inspiration, happiness, and communication.
Whether he came from god, or I came from pure need

He disagreed, gave me the gospel according to John", "I was there to stop his Christian tunnel vision" and the "thank god" at the end ties it in very nicely. a fabulous piece.
